Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah

The United Methodist University proudly celebrates Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah, a distinguished member of the Class of 2011 whose journey exemplifies academic excellence, professional integrity, and dedicated national service.

Hon. Stevquoah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the United Methodist University, graduating with highest honours. He later obtained a Master of Arts degree in Administration from Framingham State College in Massachusetts, United States. His academic foundation prepared him for a remarkable career spanning journalism, public administration, corporate leadership, and national governance.

He began his professional journey as an Action News Reporter at Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA). He subsequently joined the Liberia Broadcasting System, where he rose through the ranks to become News Director and later Assistant Director General for News and Public Affairs. These roles strengthened his competence in strategic communication, leadership, and public engagement.

Hon. Stevquoah later served for 12 years as Chief of Office Staff to then Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. In that capacity, he managed the Office of the Vice President, served as spokesperson and policy adviser, coordinated agricultural initiatives and staff development, and represented the Vice President at national and international engagements.

Following his public-service tenure, he joined ArcelorMittal Liberia, where he held senior leadership responsibilities from 2018 to 2024. His portfolio included corporate communications, government relations, community engagement, corporate services, and the company’s school system. He also played an important coordinating role in the company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2024, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai appointed him Minister of State Without Portfolio for Special Services. His record of competence and trusted leadership led to his subsequent elevation as Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and Chief of Office Staff to the President.

Today, Hon. Stevquoah occupies one of the most consequential positions within Liberia’s Executive Branch. He coordinates the President’s agenda, oversees the administration of the Presidency, strengthens communication across government institutions, and advises the President on national priorities and policy implementation.

His journey—from the classrooms of the United Methodist University to the heart of Liberia’s Presidency—is a powerful reminder that education, integrity, discipline, and service can prepare ordinary people for extraordinary national responsibilities.

Hon. Samuel A. Stevquoah is not merely a successful graduate; he is an alumnus making an enduring impact on governance and national development.
